Vodacom SA subscribers grow to 34.1 million
It’s safe to say that Vodacom is doing extremely well in the telecommunications space.
It has had a whopping 8.7% increase in revenue for the quarter ended December 2015, their customer base is now at a staggering 65.3 million.
Just in South Africa alone, 34.1 million use Vodacom.
Out of the R21,74 billion revenue that they made for the quarter, a whopping R17.11 billion came from the South African market, which is quite impressive, given the fact they have competitors MTN, Cell C, Telkom Mobile and others.
This increase in revenue and customer base happened, despite the challenge with Altech Autopage (PTY) Limited, which saw 75 000 disconnections for contract customers.
“Customer demand for high speed mobile data is growing across our footprint, supporting a 27.5% increase in Group data revenue,” said group CEO, Shameel Joosub.
“Active data customers increased 14.5% to 30.3 million as we increased sales of more affordable data devices in the quarter.”
By the looks of things, Vodacom will keep on slaying!
